Design firm Marmol Radziner restored the original spirit and character of the house, while updating the finishes and layout for entertaining as well as accommodating an extensive art collection.
Gabled ceilings, sloping rooflines and Palos Verdes stone walls defined the original design of the home. Interior rooms were enlarged and reconfigured to open up the spaces and bring in natural light. A cabana addition on the west terrace was removed, opening the master bedroom suite to views of Century City. - Via
Designers, inventors, filmmakers, partners - Charles and Ray Eames enjoy a rare occasion: Sunday morning together in their home near Santa Monica. The couple built the house, “a pleasant place for living and working,” in 1949. Charles died in 1978 after living more than half his 71 years in California. He once said, “Just being by an ocean is comforting.”
